These dimensions are fashioned in the shape of a chimney, and the plates may be stacked with or with-out their lids. The standardisation of the depth, diameter and arrangement of the wells facilitates both automated and manual tasks. These plates are also suited for common membrane insert systems. The multiwell plates offered by Greiner Bio-One are characterised by high transparency and low autofluorescence. For enhanced accountability and tracking, lot numbers are printed on all plates. These culture plates are free from DNase and RNase and they are non-cytotoxic and non-pyrogenic.

A hydrophobic surface is also available for suspension culture as well as hybrid-oma cells. The combination of condensation rings within the lid and the chimney shape of the wells miti-gates evaporation and significantly reduces the risk of cross-contamination.
